Jayne & the Huntsmen
Not all acoustic singer-songwriters can transition seamlessly to band frontmen, but Jayne Balash made the leap in 2020. After years of performing her original songs across the country, she took on the challenge of creating something entirely new. Three Huntsville natives round out the four piece with Aaron Anderson on guitar, Michael Aaron Cummings on bass and Zack Melton on drums, each member brings something unique and collaborative to the table. With vocals that are fit for bluesy runs but equally at home in a 90s style dreamscape, piercing lyrics that are punctuated by strong guitars and drums, and harmonies that find the sweet spot every time, they have settled into their own hybrid genre - Emocana.Jayne & the Huntsmen perfectly straddles the line between angst and longing, between hope and sorrow, between what the past dished out and what the future still holds. Keep an eye out for their upcoming debut album releasing in 2024 and stream the What About Me EP now.
